Scholarship program coming 2022

Nationwide, 96% of paid firefighters are men and 76% are White (non-Hispanic). While demographic data for volunteer firefighters in Sonoma County is unavailable, it would likely tell a similar story – despite a population that is over 51% female and 25% Hispanic.

Volunteer Fire Foundation believes that all residents of Sonoma County have a part to play in protecting and preserving their community from a growing wave of unprecedented fire activity and is committed to supporting access to firefighting training among underrepresented populations.
