Many volunteer firefighters can’t afford quality equipment and protective gear – but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have it.
Nothing comes cheap in the fire service, where a set of fire-grade walkie-talkies can cost a small department upwards of $100,000 and a new, fully-equipped engine can run half a million dollars or more.
Funded fire departments depend on specialized grant writers to secure many of their high-ticket needs, but smaller, volunteer-dependent departments typically don’t have the budget to hire an outside grant writer or the bandwidth and skillset to apply for grants themselves.
Our solution is two-fold.
1. Employ an experienced fire service grant writer to support majority-volunteer fire agencies in the North Bay in developing and submitting grant proposals for larger ticket items
2. Fund majority-volunteer fire agencies directly via Impact Grants, which can be used to purchase smaller ticket items, cover unexpected expenses, or be applied as seed funding to secure larger grants
Our ability to launch these programs is entirely dependent on private donations. Your support means everything.
