*Volunteer Fire Foundation received a FEMA SAFER grant to offer this training. Due to the terms of our grant, only active Sonoma County volunteer firefighters are eligible.
Prerequisites: Before enrolling in Driver/Operator 1B, you must currently possess a valid Class C California driver's license and an endorsement to operate a fire apparatus issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles and signed by the fire chief of a recognized fire agency
Space in this training is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Due to the terms of the FEMA SAFER grant that funded this training, registration is open exclusively to volunteer firefighters who are active members of Sonoma County fire agencies.
After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite and a follow-up email from your instructor with additional information, including exact times.
Course Overview
Instructor: Sean Grinnell (Sonoma County Fire)
Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator 1B provides the knowledge and skills needed to operate and perform preventative maintenance on a pumping apparatus. Topics include routine tests, inspections, and servicing functions; producing hand, master, and foam fire streams; relay pump operations; and supplying water to fire sprinkler and standpipe systems.

This training takes place over two weekends (four 10-hour days). After registering, your instructor will email you with exact times.

All training will take place at the Santa Rosa Fire Training Tower
